Arabplast is the Middle East’s leading International Plastic & Rubber trade event, the previous show attracted 537 exhibitors from over 40 countries with 14,449 visitors attending the show. The Middle East: A Market of Vast Opportunities
A boom in the UAE's construction section is driving the demand for plastic products and with the continual expansion of the non-oil economy, demand for plastic products has grown steadily. This has lead to a growth in plastic production which has, over time, reduced dependence on imports. The industry expanded rapidly in the 1990's and continues to grow today. Amongst Dubai’s key characteristics are:
The BPF is dedicated to maximising the impact of UK Exhibitors at key trade shows. At Arabplast the BPF will be coordinating the UK Pavilion and using the organisers ‘Superior Package’ have put together a cost effective stand package that will ensure the UK Plastics Sector to have a strong visual presence at Arabplast. UK Trade & Investment Grants
The British Plastics Federation have successfully applied for Government funding for Arabplast. This will mean that eligible companies meeting the meeting the ‘New to Market’ and ‘SME’ definitions (edited highlights below, full details upon request) will be entitled to receive £1,500 in government grants to attend the show.
New to Market - A business not having exported to the country where the exhibition is taking place within the previous 12 months and normally having no established representation there.
SME - Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are defined as those matching the requirements at A, B and C below.
a) Has less than 250 employees.
b) Has an annual turnover not exceeding € 50m, or an annual balance sheet total not exceeding € 43m.
c) Is independent, i.e. not more than 25 % of its capital or voting rights are owned by one enterprise
