Bioplastics: Advances in Biobased and Biodegradable Technology -Event Schedule 2022

In this session Trevor will provide us with his analysis of the current situation with bioplastics and what the future will bring.  As well as exploring the impace of generation 1 and generation 2 bioploymers. 

In this presentation Mariogiovanna Vetere will provide an overview of the opportunites in bioplastics, highlighting the progress made and future potential for this growing industry. She will also reflect on the challenges facing the industry.

Dr Rothman will explore the data looking at the LCA of bio plastics as electricity and heat are decarbonised.

Our speaker will provide an insight into the size of the bioplastics market, global production trends and land use. 

Dr Farmer will cover the underlying principles for several pathways to bio-based terephthalic acid/esters and try to give a final snapshot of where the most promising options currently are. 

Stuart Hayward-Higham will provide an insight into dealing with bioplastics from a waste management companies point of view. He will explore the unique challenges with regards to bioplastics and the solutions to be found and will explain how a waste management company interacts with biopolymers.
