BPF Expresses Grave Concerns Over RAM 2027

The British Plastics Federation (BPF) share the grave concerns expressed by the flexible plastic packaging industry over the contents of the Recycling Assessment Methodology (RAM) 2027, which was published on the 1st of July. Removing the possibility of gaining a GREEN rating for flexible plastics, even after their collection at kerbside in April 2027, will have a huge impact on the industry, drive behaviour contrary to the aims of pEPR, and stifle innovation and investment in the industry. The BPF believes flexible plastic packaging is being penalised when compared to other materials and we will be engaging with PackUK, the government Minister responsible and other relevant government departments to stress the significance of this decision.
