BPF presents at Recoup Conference 2016

Recoup’s annual conference will take place on Thursday 29 September in Peterborough. Helen Jordan, the Sustainability Issues Executive, will be presenting at the conference on the Plastics Industry Recycling Action Plan (PIRAP) in the ‘quick updates’ following lunch.

Helen will reiterate the importance of the whole value chain approach to PIRAP and the need for everyone to commit to working towards the actions relevant to their sector.

PIRAP was  initiated by WRAP and later developed by the BPF and PlasticsEurope. It was launched in 2015 to help meet the plastic packaging recycling targets and sets out a number of outcomes to enable this . These outcomes include creating and promoting end markets, improving engagement by consumers, making improvments to sorting infrastructure to improve quality and considering end of life in the design stage. PIRAP delivers these outcomes by engaging with stakeholders throughout the value chain and getting a commitment from them to work on specific action as set out in the action plan.

If you are interested in finding out more about PIRAP before the conference please contact [email protected]. A copy of the latest PIRAP newsletter is available here.
