BPF supports Election Manifesto for Packaging and BPF view of the NICS Tax

Dear Members & Colleagues

Attached please find the Packaging News Election Manifesto 2010 from the April edition of ‘Packaging News’.

The BPF contributed to this and supports its eight calls for action.

NICS

There has been a lot of debate in the media and by politicians about the Government’s proposed NICS increase in April 2011. The BPF opposed this from the start as a tax on jobs, hitting employers and employees as the recovery gains strength.  Our press release on the 24th March Budget expressed disappointment that the Chancellor had not heeded our request to scrap the NICS increase.

Best regards

Peter Davis
Director General
