BPF Supports Initiative for Youth Debating Competition

The European Youth Debating Competition, run by the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) and supported by PlasticsEurope, has launched its 2017 iteration. The National finals will take place in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the UK, with the European Finals taking place in Berlin in the framework of the 51st EPCA Annual Meeting.

The Competition gives the opportunity to groups of young students to debate on petrochemistry and plastics related issues around an overarching theme, this year “People, Planet, Profit in the Digital Age: With or without petrochemistry and plastics?

Through providing a platform for open discussion on topical issues related to petrochemistry and plastics, EYDC wants to engage students aged 16-19 years old to help make science and technology more tangible, accessible and directly connected to youngsters.

The competition is open to all students (not just those with a STEM background) and details on the competition and how to register interest can be found at: https://epca.eu/education/EYDC

The European Finals of the European Youth Debating Competition will take place in Berlin on Sunday 1st October 2017 during the EPCA 51st Annual Meeting taking place from 30th September to 3rd October 2017.
