BPF Tackles RIBA on Camberwell Fire
Monday, 10 August 2009
The BPF has written to the RIBA Chief Executive asking for the opportunity to present on the fire behaviour of PVC-U and questioning RIBA advice to its members on handling the media. This follows ill-founded newspasper comments by a RIBA Council member claiming that PVC windows were responsible for the recent, tragic Camberwell fire. Not only had architect Sam Webb given an error- laden description of PVC's fire characteristics, it was subsequently revealed that there were no PVC windows in the building.
