BPF welcomes CPA for industry update
Highlighting some of the construction industry’s most significant developments, including the Green Deal and Building Regulations, the Construction Products Association’s (CPA) Industrial Affairs Director John Tebbit visited the BPF offices on 12 September, meeting with members of the Windows and EPS groups.
During his meeting, Tebbit expressed his disappointment with regard to the Green Deal, which has been widely publicised as the government’s flagship scheme for energy saving. Tebbit confirmed the scheme will be launched in October; however, at this stage it appears that significant developments are unlikely to occur until early next year.
Tebbit then went on to discuss building regulations, during which he referred delegates to the CPA’s ‘Guidance Note on the Construction Products Regulation (CPR)’. The guide explains the implications of CE Marking under CPR for manufacturers, importers, distributors, specifiers, certification and test bodies, and regulatory/enforcement authorities.’
To this end, in collaboration with the British Board of Agrément (BBA) and the British Standards Institution (BSI), the CPA is due to hold a CPR workshop, which will also benefit from relevant legal practitioner view points.
