BPF Windows Group joins forces with BSI to explain CE Marking
BSI held an exclusive seminar for members of the BPF Windows Group on Thursday 9 August 2012. The seminar aimed to explain all the aspects covered by building regulations and will served the Group to update the document ‘CE Marking of windows and external pedestrian doorsets’ published in 2008. The updated version will serve as an interpretation of what information should accompany CE Marking in the UK.
The Construction Products Directive 89/106/EEC will cease as of 1st July 2013 and will become the Construction Products Regulation. It will therefore become an EU Regulation and will become a Legal Requirement in UK and all of EU on 1st July 2013. This will essentially mean that any products manufactured for the construction industry will require a CE Mark.
CE marking must be performed by a Notified Body such as BSI that has the scope to perform this ‘Product Certification’.
