Business Opportunities Between Europe and India Cemented at K2013
Thursday, 17 October 2013
Today marked the occasion of the first ever cluster to cluster agreement when a historic Memorandum of Understanding signing took place on the British Plastics Federation stand in the British Pavilion on the second day of the K2013 fair in Düsseldorf.
Eight leading European Polymer and Materials Clusters cemented the relationships built up in the two year period in which the Wiintech (Worldwide Intercluster Initiative for New Materials and Processes Focused on Clean Technologies) project has run.
The signing took place between Subash Kadakia, President of the Plastindia Foundation (India’s apex body for plastics) and representatives of the 8 European Clusters. These clusters are Plastipolis (France), Proplast (Italy), Plastival (Spain), Clusterland (Austria), Veneto Nanotech (Italy), Poolnet (Portugal), Chemie-Cluster Bayern (Germany) and NEPIC (UK).#
Wiintech has been set up to improve trade opportunities between Europe and the three key markets of India, Brazil and America. This agreement is the first of a series being signed during the K fair and marks the successful first stage in the development of this novel approach to trade and business opportunities. The project has been supported by the European Commission and forms part of their cluster excellence initiative.
