Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Registration Deadline

               The deadline is looming fast for BPF members who are not in our Climate Change Agreement and have half hourly metering with electricity consumption exceeding 6,000 megawatts a year and an annual energy bill of more than £500,000. Businesses that fail to register by the September 30^th 2010 will be hit with an instant fine of £5k and a further £500 a day until they sign up with the Environment Agency.

                

               At its inception three years ago the BPF told Government CRC was complex, costly and bureaucratic. The national press is now attacking it strongly and calling for the deadline to be extended and for Government to review the scheme.
