Little Known Facts on How to Reduce Your Energy Bill and Usage
Wednesday, 21 March 2018
Here are some little known facts to help your business reduce its energy bill.
Fact 1: Your energy bill is going up. In April 2019 the climate change "levy", which most businesses have on their bill, is increasing - electricity up 45% and gas 67%¹.
Fact 2: If you have a Climate Change “Agreement” (CCA) you receive a discount on this levy. Basically, you get money back.
Fact 3: This discount is 90% off your bill for electricity, and 65% off for gas. That’s how much you save with a CCA. This is going to increase to 93% and 78% off soon².
Fact 4: This may be a little confusing at first, but read on - it gets better.
Fact 5: The “CCA" is running for at least five more years.
Fact 6: The scheme closes for new entries in 2018 – application deadline is 29 June. If you do not sign up by this date, you will be losing out until 2023 and not be able to do anything about it.
