Climate Change Agreement Options

The Climate Change Agreement (CCA) scheme is a voluntary scheme set up by the UK government to encourage investment in energy efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions within energy intensive industries.

Participants of the scheme benefit from a Climate Change Levy (CCL) exemption of up to 90% for electricity and 65% for gas (and other fuels) in exchange for agreeing to energy efficiency improvement targets.

Eligibility for CCA depends upon the operator carrying out an ‘eligible process’ as defined by the sector definition.
