Jeremy Pingstone, Technical Apprenticeship Service Jeremy Pingstone recently taken a position working with the Technical Apprenticeship Service as Business Development Manager in the Polymer Sector. Jeremy has been working in the area of work based training programs for 15 years, more recently he has been involved in the development and roll out of a new foundation degree for the polymer industry. In 1997 Jeremy started his own company offering technical services to the polymer industry, this involving training and work based assessment programs. In 2004 he became an External Verifier for Polymer based NVQ programs, this work continues today as a Standards Verifier and Higher Apprenticeship Advisor for a leading awarding organisation. |

Dr Matthew Thornton, Materials KTN Matthew began work as a KTP Associate at the University of Reading in collaboration with J G Shelton and Co Ltd, the main topic of his work was researching ways of removing mercury from crematoria flue gases. He is now a Materials Advisor at the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and the Polymer Sector Leader for the Materials KTN. His specialist areas are polymeric materials, carbon-carbon composites, carbon nanomaterials, catalysis and nanomaterials. |

Dr Alan Wood, Victrex Alan Wood has a broad range of experience having worked for a polymer machinery supplier prior to starting an academic career in 1983. After nearly twenty years in academia Alan joined Victrex where he is currently Principal Scientist. He has a broad background in materials processing (particularly injection moulding and extrusion) and polymer science. |

Ian Young, RPC Group Ian has worked in the plastics industry for 24 years on a variety of moulding and finishing machinery. He is a safety practitioner and is currently Health & Safety Manager for RPC Blackburn. Ian is a member of the BPF safety committee and the SIMPL strategy committee. Ian has a significant level of experience in accident reduction, safety auditing and training. |
