British Plastics Federation Annual Dinner: Code of Conduct for Companies Booking Tables
The British Plastics Federation (BPF) Annual Dinner is a prestigious industry event that provides a valuable networking opportunity for professionals within the plastics sector.
To ensure an enjoyable and professional environment for all attendees, we kindly ask that all companies booking tables adhere to the following Code of Conduct.
1. Professional Behaviour
All guests are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner throughout the evening. This includes engaging in courteous and constructive discussions and treating all attendees with dignity and respect.
2. Unacceptable Behaviour
Unacceptable behaviour includes, but is not limited to, abusive, discriminatory, intimidating, harassing, derogatory or demeaning conduct or materials by any attendee at the event or associated activities.
Harassment may take many forms, including but not limited to: offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability; inappropriate use of nudity or sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following; the circulation of harassing materials; unwelcome photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or activities (verbal or otherwise); inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.
The following are also strictly prohibited:
Any physical, written, verbal or other abuse, threats, intimidation, harassment, stalking, pushing, shoving, or use of physical force against another person, or any action that creates a disturbance, danger, or a reasonable sense of apprehension, as determined by the BPF.
Possession of any item that may be used as a weapon.
Boisterous, lewd, profane or offensive behaviour or language, including sexually explicit or obscene expressions, gestures, or any racial, religious, or ethnic slurs.
Possession or use of illegal substances, including narcotics, marijuana, or other prohibited drugs.
Smoking in any area other than designated smoking zones.
3. Responsible Consumption of Alcohol
While the event includes a dinner with drinks, all guests are expected to drink responsibly. Excessive consumption of alcohol that leads to disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
4. Respectful Communication
All attendees must refrain from making inappropriate, offensive, or discriminatory comments, including but not limited to remarks related to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Any form of harassment, including unwelcome physical contact, derogatory jokes, or inappropriate advances, is strictly prohibited.
5. Consideration for Other Guests and Staff
Attendees should respect fellow guests, BPF staff and venue staff by maintaining a polite and courteous attitude. Any form of aggressive, disruptive, or intimidating behaviour towards others will not be tolerated.
6. Compliance with Venue Rules
All attendees must comply with the rules and regulations of the event venue, including health and safety protocols. Any damage caused to the venue due to reckless behaviour will be the responsibility of the offending party.
7. Reporting and Consequences
If any attendee experiences or witnesses inappropriate behaviour, they are encouraged to report it to a designated event organiser. The BPF reserves the right to take appropriate action, including removal from the event or barring individuals or companies from future events if necessary.
8. Commitment to Inclusivity
The BPF is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all attendees. Companies booking tables are responsible for ensuring that their guests are aware of and adhere to this Code of Conduct.

9. Photography/Videography
Video recordings and photographs are being taken at this event. By entering the event, you agree to have your image and likeness recorded, used, and distributed by the event organizers for promotional, archival, or other lawful purposes
