Peter Davis attended an Enterprise Forum with Nick Boles MP on 23rd January 2014. The Minister referred to the change in lifestyle meaning more product ordered online, less footfall in shops, more work at home. The Government recognise offices and retail premises also agricultural property, old sheds and barns may well be converted residential. They want to raise the bar and reduce bureaucracy for creating more living space. Peter Davis said "it's useful for members producing construction products to watch these trends, for new business opportunities". They recognise house building on green land is a vote loser but are pushing for it anyway to meet housing needs. The Government intend to replace all planning guidance with a single website.
