Cool Customer on Board for Interplas
Wednesday, 28 April 2010
Cheshire, UK, 26th April 2010: Having been taken over by new organisers, the UK’s leading plastics show, Interplas, is enjoying healthy growth in orders from exhibitors for the 2011 event to be held 27th–29th September at the NEC in Birmingham. The early interest indicates that exhibitors see the show as a major opportunity to boost sales and build on the momentum already being generated by the K show, due to take place in Düsseldorf later this year.
Early bird exhibitors, which have already signed up for the show, are excited by the rejuvenation injected by the new organisers. They are particularly interested in the main feature, the British Centre of Excellence at the heart of the exhibition, which will showcase the UK’s finest plastic products from the country’s most competitive and innovative manufacturers.
One company, which has signed up early is IsoCool, a UK-based industrial process cooling specialist. At the show, IsoCool will demonstrate how manufacturers can harness free energy sources to significantly reduce plant running costs and meet environmental targets.
IsoCool has worked for a wide range of companies, including Logoplaste, GlaxoSmithKline and Carclo Technical Products. The work has resulted in savings of hundreds of thousands of pounds in reduced operating expenses. Achieving this is largely thanks to the company’s unique consultative approach to process cooling. Nigel Hallet, Managing Director of IsoCool explained: “Rather than just distributing and installing products, we create bespoke solutions for our clients which consider their short and long term business objectives, plant specification and the environment.”
This means that costly wholesale plant changes are rarely needed. IsoCool will recycle or upgrade as much of an existing system as possible and then retrofit energy saving products, such as free-coolers. As well as slashing operating costs, this approach reduces the initial investment required, minimises installation downtime and can greatly improve a company’s eco-credentials.
An example of where IsoCool’s strategy has paid dividends is their installation at Alma Products, a leading provider of extrusion, thermoforming and container printing services to the food industry. IsoCool re-commissioned a redundant cooling tower and retro-fitted a plate heat exchanger to provide the cooling source when the ambient allows partial and up to 100% direct air cooling. According to IsoCool, the reduced load on Alma’s chillers has decreased running costs by a massive 63%, saving enough energy to offer a 15 month return on investment.
With regard to plans for Interplas, IsoCool are inviting visitors onto their stand for a free consultation. Mr Hallet explained: “Manufacturing companies rarely have an in-house cooling specialist, so aren’t aware of just how much can be achieved with specialist expertise and creative solutions. We will be offering high level tailored advice, which we guarantee will offer significant financial rewards.”
As for IsoCool’s other show plans, Nigel is keeping things firmly under-wraps: “We’ve got some amazing products in development at the moment, and hope to be able to launch them at Interplas. I can’t say too much, but there is nothing like them on the market at the moment.”
