Ecotech Continues Growth with Capacity-Increasing Investment

Ecotech London Ltd (“Ecotech”), an advanced PET recycling company based in Rainham, Essex is pleased to announce that orders have been placed with Germany’s STF Group to install machinery that will increase capacity at the company’s PET recycling facility by 30% by the end of the year.

The £750,000 equipment upgrade will include a new grinder, centrifuge, ancillary equipment and supporting infrastructure upgrades. 

This investment will increase the Rainham-based recycler’s output to over 16,000 tonnes per annum of hot-washed recycled PET flake. 

“This is the first phase of our planned expansion” said Javed Mawji, Ecotech’s chief executive. “Within 12 months we intend to install a second washing line which will double our capacity to over 24,000 tonnes a year. This follows strong demand for the Company’s products since we began production at the end of 2014.” 

Ecotech’s rPET flakes end up in a variety of products, from food trays and sheeting though to bottles and polyester fibre. Demand for rPET continues to increase due to its recyclability and versatility as a strong, light-weight packaging material. The Company also produces hot washed polyolefin flakes.

The company is backed by STF Group (Europe’s largest PET recycler), the London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB) and private investors.
