Monday, 6 June 2022
Amidst a complex global scenario where volatility, interest rate hikes and inflation force businesses to counter unexpected consequences, Western Union Business Solutions and British Plastics Federation (BPF) reached an agreement to provide insights and offer their expertise in International Payments, Risk Management and Foreign Exchange to BPF members.
As part of the agreement, BPF members get access to:
- An initial Consultation on Currency Exchange, International Payments, and Risk Management.
- Market Insights and Monthly Currency Reports
The agreement will include live event collaboration, joint webinars, and roundtables for BPF member companies.

Green Hedging: create a positive impact through your core work in finance and treasury
Western Union Business Solutions has recently partnered with Gold Standard to offer their customers the opportunity to support sustainable initiatives with ease as part of their hedging strategies.
This offering enables businesses to select from a range of Gold Standard-certified projects, from community-based energy efficiency or clean water to renewable energy and waste management, and contribute to initiatives aligned with the UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development at the cost of just 0.1% in addition to the notional trading amount. Western Union Business Solutions will then match this fee, contributing a total of 0.2% to the cause and donating it in full in the customer’s name.
As well as a certification of the carbon offset, Gold Standard will explain the additional environmental and socio-economic benefits you can include in your ESG reporting.
“This initiative seeks to complement those sustainability efforts and ESG plans that BPF and its members have been working on by helping them design a Risk Management Strategy that allows them to stay focused in meeting their carbon offset goals and Net-Zero legislation requirements”, says Alex Lawson, Director - Hedging, UK & Europe.
Important: Hedging products are derivative financial instruments which involve risks due to FX market volatility. This can be disadvantageous and pose risks. If uncertainties concerning your risk management remain, we advise to not enter into contracts with Financial Instruments.
