Harmonised classification and labelling consultation on dodecyl methylacrylate
Tuesday, 8 November 2016
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has launched a public consultation on the harmonised classification and labelling proposal for dodecyl methacrylate. The consultation will run until 19th December 2016.
Dodecyl methacrylate is primarily used as a monomer in the production of polymer included in various product as a binding agent (e.g. for paints, coatings or adhesives). It already has an existing harmonised classification and labelling in Annex VI to the CLP regulation.
The proposal within the dossier is to remove dodecyl methacrylate from Annex VI as a skin and eye irritant, as well as for its aquatic acute and chronic toxicity.
