Horners Bottlemakers Award open for entry
Monday, 12 April 2021
The Horners Bottlemakers Award, run jointly with the British Plastics Federation, is now accepting entries.
The award celebrates technical, design and sustainability innovations that show commercial potential. It showcases the UK plastic bottle-making and plastic packaging industry’s efforts to continually innovate, staying abreast of modern demands.
Submissions are encouraged for any plastic packaging design that includes a closure. Entries must have significant UK content in either design, materials or manufacture and a proven record of commercial success. Winners are rewarded with the coveted Horners trophy and a winner’s certificate.
Philip Law, director general of the BPF, states:
“All companies with innovative plastic packaging designs that use a closure mechanism are encouraged to apply for this prestigious award - particularly those within the thermoforming, injection moulding, rotational moulding, blow moulding and flexible plastic packaging fields. Each year, we look forward to reviewing the submissions, which showcase the very best packaging designs.”
Master of the Horners Martin Muirhead states:
“We are pleased to continue the tradition of the Bottlemakers Award, celebrating the best in innovation across the UK plastics industry. This past year has been a difficult one for every industry, and we are keen to highlight achievements and innovation, despite the setbacks we have all faced from the coronavirus pandemic. This award offers a much-welcome chance to celebrate positive innovations in the industry.”
Candidates are invited to visit www.hornersaward.co.uk or email [email protected] with submissions. The deadline for entries to this year’s award is 30 July.
