Industry’s Apprentice Appreciation Key to Apprenticeship Reform
Tuesday, 15 November 2016

With the Government’s focus on apprenticeship reform, as well as their drive to promote the importance of apprenticeships through the Get In Go Far initiative, now more than ever is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the work and success of apprentices within our industry through the Polymer Apprentice of the Year Award 2016.
The British Plastics Federation (BPF), in conjunction with the Worshipful Company of Horners, is running the Polymer Apprentice of the Year Award 2016. The award aims to recognise apprentices employed in a technical, engineering, manufacturing or design role associated with polymer processing or polymer/additive manufacture.
The Horners and BPF feel this award is a key initiative in highlighting not only the successes of polymer apprentices in the industry, but also their importance and the need for industry focus. The Government has announced apprenticeship reforms which include a levy on UK pay bills above £3million for May 2017, as well as funding and training reforms to accompany it. With the changes occurring and shifting focus on apprenticeships, the Horners and BPF feel it is key to showcase the value of our industry’s apprentices to maintain credibility and influence in the discussions.
The Deadline for entries is 30 November 2016.
