Industry representatives meet with North West Leicestershire MP to discuss BREXIT Priorities

Andrew Bridgen MP recently visited the Ashby-de-la-Zouch offices of Plastribution to discuss the Priorities for the UK Plastics Industry in a New UK-EU Relationship.
Mike Boswell the managing director of Plastribution was recently elected as chair of the British Plastics Federation’s ‘BREXIT Committee’ representing the wishes of a £23.5bn industry employing over 180,000 people with a number of significant businesses based in Andrew’s constituency.
An informative discussion took place around the sectors requests for free access to the sUK EU workers currently employed in plastics, maintaining and developing legislation compatible with the EU, and finally support for innovation and overseas business development.
Mike Boswell said that ‘we are particularly fortunate to have a local MP with a business background and we very much hope that this meeting will help to ensure that this important sector of the UK economy has a secure future noting that plastics are key enabling industry for other important business in the region including food and drink, automotive, aerospace and construction’.
