A complete set of eighth impressions of the first edition of the'Lord of the Rings' with the original slipcase (George Allen and Unwin, 1960-61). Slipcase rubbed and worn but still very sturdy with no significant splitting. The Fellowship of the Ring - First Edition, Eighth Impression in Eleventh Impression Dust Jacket. Previous owner name and date to front endpaper; board corners slightly bumped; a little pushing to spine tips with some darkening to red topstain; rear map still intact - very good. The dust jacket is from the eleventh impression and has a tear to top fore-edge of front panel; minor chipping to spine tips and to top corner fore-edge of rear panel with usual toning to spine panel and fore-edge - very good.

The Two Towers - First Edition, Eighth Impression in Eighth Impression Dust Jacket. Very minor bump to top corner of upper board; light foxing to fore-edge; rear map still intact - very good plus or better.

The original and unclipped dust jacket has a small tear to the top corner of front panel with a couple of very small nicks to spine head; light rubbing to extremities with some edge wear to top; slight toning to spine panel - very good plus. The Return of the King - First Edition, Eighth Impression in Eighth Impression Dust Jacket.

Top corner of upper board bumped; light foxing to fore-edge; spine very slightly rolled; rear map still intact - very good. The original and unclipped dust jacket has some toning to fore-edges and spine panel; light edge wear with a couple small nicks; small indentation to foot of front panel - very good.
