These were extremely well made, all had good solid weight to them. This was very easily the height of statue collecting and quality. If you do not pay I open a case and you get a strike. This is the Sideshow Lord of the Rings John Howe's Barad-Dur Framed Print Giclee LOTR.

This print is brand new in the box and has never been opened. I used stock photos to show you the statue but the picture of the brown box is the exact statue you are receiving. This listing is for a Sideshow John Howe's Framed Art Print Barad-Dur from Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Brand new , opened for inspection purposes only.

The unique limited edition, hand signed giclee and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers film strip are displayed within a finely woven acid-free linen matte and finished with a museum quality carved frame. There is also a specially engraved brass plaque identifying the origin of the piece.

The finished piece measures an impressive 29" W x 29" H and includes a certificate of authenticity. John Howe has been re-creating Tolkien's mythical world of Middle-earth since he was a young man, fresh out of college. In John Howe's own words, Barad-dur's very foundations are anchored in the folly of Sauron; his wrath, embodied in battlement piled on battlement, his power, the mortar that holds stone to stone to impossible heights.

The original'Barad-Dur' watercolor has been masterfully reproduced as a fine art giclee, printed on archival paper. It includes the original signatures of the director Peter Jackson, two-time Academy Award winner, Richard Taylor and John Howe, celebrated conceptual designer / illustrator of Tolkien's world. Director Peter Jackson has also donated film stock from his personal collection. A special lighting mechanism is included which allows the filmstrip to be illuminated at the touch of a button. Continuing the series of conceptual art based on The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, Sideshow Weta is pleased to present "Barad-dur" a Giclee and Film Strip Collectible based on the conceptual art of John Howe.

This piece will be the second in The Lord of the Rings framed art series by Sideshow Weta Collectibles. In 2002, Sideshow Weta made available the Alan Lee "Rivendell" lithograph and Film Strip Collectible based on conceptual artwork from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings. Together, the two conceptual art pieces represent the good and the bad that exists in Middle-earth. While the Rivendell lithograph is a beautiful representation of the ethereal home of the elves, the Barad-dur giclee captures the dark world of Sauron and Mordor.

The John Howe giclee depicts a menacing Ringwraith flying on the back of a Fell Beast swooping down from Barad-dur. This fortress of Sauron, crowned by the Window of the Eye, looms under a cloud of shadow and darkness, while lava erupts from Mount Doom in the background.

This intensely beautiful work of art is made even more valuable by the film frame collectible displayed along with it. Director Peter Jackson has donated film stock from his personal collection.
