Keep Britain Tidy have called on the government to create a 'recycling blueprint' for consistent recycling collections. They have highlighted the that it is very difficult to run a national campaign when each council does something different. England has an average of 42% household recycling rate, with one council as low as 15%. They have called on England to learn from the progress in Wales – where recycling rates are increasing, the average of household recycling is 60% and household plastic bottle collection has reached 75%. |
