KTN Launch Monthly Funding Column in BPF Newsletter

This new monthly funding update is brought to you by the Materials Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) team who are funded by the Technology Strategy Board.

The Materials KTN is a network of over 4000 materials professionals who wish to have a greater understanding of materials, technologies, developments and innovation.  We offer a powerful communications conduit to support funding applications, collaborations and new business relationships.

The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) is a business-led, government funded organisation whose purpose is to promote and invest in technology-enabled innovation to boost UK business and prosperity. This is achieved by taking a lead in investing in new ideas, building networks and promoting the exchange of knowledge between industries, academia and society as a whole.

The Technology Strategy Board role is to look at the full lifecyle of product development from 'Concept to Commercialisation', evidenced by the following examples of interaction and leadership:
• Provide strategic innovation leadership and investment;
• Bring people together in partnership through collaboration and working across business, government and the research community;
• Ensure the UK has the necessary capability in key technologies;
• Take a global perspective;
• Promote the importance of innovation and technology.

This monthly funding update will include a variety of funders.  Firstly, we are starting with the TSB itself.  All the TSB competition details are held on the website http://www.innovateuk.org/competitions.ashx

Over the coming months we will endeavour to support you through understanding all of the aspects of TSB funding from both the UK and Europe.
