Latest Round of Polymer Ambassadors Trained

November 2019 saw the newest cohort of Polymer Ambassadors attend the BPF's Polymer Ambassador Scheme, equipped to enter schools and deliver Olly's Cool Box of Plastics Experiments.

The Polymer Ambassador Scheme

The Polymer Ambassador Scheme is an initiative to give people from the polymer industry the opportunity to teach children and students about the exciting world of polymers, to engage them about the possibilities of science, engineering and manufacturing. The training involved includes presentation skills on how best to engage school kids, as well as further training on the Olly's Cool Box of Plastics Kits that forms a key part of the Polymer Ambassador Scheme. Once trained up, Ambassadors will then be ready to head out and deliver polymer training to schools and students.

6th November  2019

7 ambassadors attended the ENGEL offices to learn more about skills for engaging schools, delivering presentations and performing experiments taught. Run in conjunction with the SIP Ambassador programme, Helen Cattell of Cogent Skills delivered the morning session focusing on their Futures in Science resource that helps ambassadors plan their presentation and delivery, followed by Mohamed Elkhalifa of the BPF who taught the Olly Kit experiments.
