UK HC ED WITH LE CD! THE LORD OF THE RINGS. The Millennium Edition 7 books Slipcased. For the year 2000, HarperCollins in Britain and Houghton Mifflin in the US released a limited edition set of The Lord Of The Rings, in 6 books, as Tolkien originally wrote them, plus one book for the Appendices. They were only available in HARDCOVER for a very short while and almost immediately went out of print and then re-released in paperback.

But even those are getting hard to find.. If you have read the "trilogy" then you know that each of the three books, is really two books in one.

This is your chance get it the way Professor Tolkien actually wrote it! The US edition contained only the 7 books in a slipcase, while the UK edition offered the same set with a companion CD of Tolkien himself reading excerpts from The Lord of the Rings! Offered in it's original slipcase, here is that UK edition, with the LE CD containing 33 excerpts.. A FEW WORDS ON TOLKIEN COLLECTIBILITY... Granted, some may be hard to find, but not rare. In order to be a VALUABLE collectible, the books need to be immaculate or close to it, a scarce or extremely early printing of an early edition and if it comes with a dust jacket, that too should be close to fine.

Otherwise, they are just common items not worth much, but people are paying gobs of cash, caught up in the frenzy. Before you pay high bucks on a RARE or COLLECTIBLE edition, ask questions and demand to see a picture.

I don't believe all sellers are trying to be dishonest, some just don't know any better... This is one of many unusual editions I have listed this week along with the other dozens of items including many early printings. About Me & This Item.. Therefore I'll simply describe things in normal English! This is a beautiful presentation of THE LORD OF THE RINGS. The books are just the right size for reading, not too small, and not to big and THIS set is un-sealed but clearly unread!

They still crackle when you open them and the slipcase is in near perfect condition. The Companion CD looks like it is in perfect condition as well.

This is one of the hardest Tolkien collectibles to get your hands on, and this one is still in gift giving shape! Grab it before someone else does..
