Matrix Polymers Revolve 2850 – an engineered solution for chemical containers
Over recent years the demand for the storage of aggressive chemicals at temperatures reaching 140 °C has increased and this has clarified that a conventional polyethylene tank grade cannot be the solution for such critical requirements. Traditionally those tanks can be made from steel or alternatively an engineering polymer using other plastic processes. Steel tanks are very expensive and heavy making them difficult to transport and install. Rotational moulding company Enduramaxx in partnership with Matrix Polymers have developed a new rotationally moulded tank made from fluoropolymer (PVDF), called Revolve 2850.

A fluoropolymer is a polymer that contains molecules of carbon and fluorine. They are high-performance plastic materials used in harsh chemical and high-temperature environments, primarily where a critical performance specification must be met. Those specialty thermoplastic fluoropolymers are not a novelty in the plastic industry since they exist for over 50 years.

Benefits
- PVDF is inert to many aggressive acids and bases up to 140 °C
- PVDF is resistant to abrasion
- PVDF is V0 at 3 mm in accordance to UL94
- PVDF is very stiff material
Typical applications
PVDF is used by defence-related industries and in automotive, aerospace, electronics and telecommunications. PVDF is used in many consumer products. For non-stick coatings used on cookware and small appliances, it is the fluoropolymer that makes the non-stick coating "non-stick".
Some key properties of Revolve 2850 are reported below, the resin has been compared to various common rotational moulding grades.

Prototypes tanks have been now produced making the transportation and the installation of the tank so much easier and less expensive as shown in the picture below.
