Polypipe Chief Executive David Hall Elected as BPF President at BPF Annual General Meeting
David, who has been Chief Executive of Polypipe since September 2005, holds an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and has twenty years experience at board level within the construction products sector of the Plastics Industry. In addition to his role as President of the BPF, he also serves as a Vice Chairman of the Construction Products Association. David takes over the role of BPF President from Mike Boswell of Plastribution, who was elected President in 2013. Speaking of the appointment, David’s predecessor said; “I am absolutely delighted with David’s election. He has in an outstanding choice of President and represents one of the largest plastics processors in the UK. I have no doubt that David will do an excellent job as BPF President.”... click here

Chinaplas 2015 Leads Now Available Online
Chinaplas took place between 20th and 23rd May in Guangzhou, China. At the show the BPF organised a British Pavilion which featured 13 UK companies. At the show the BPF gathered 60 sales leads from companies looking for products and services within the UK Plastics Industry. These leads are now available to download by BPF members... click here

Visit the BPF Stands at PDM and PRE
PDM 2015 returns to the Telford International Centre on 16th – 17th June 2015 and will be co-located with PRE and, new for this year, the Plastics Packaging Show (PPS). The BPF will be exhibiting at PDM, located at stand A002, whilst the BPF’s Recycling Group will be located on stand G001 of the PRE exhibition. BPF Meets with Natural Hydration Council
On 3rd June, the BPF met with a representative from the Natural Hydration Council. The NHC is a not-for-profit bottled water association, dedicated to communicating the facts around healthy hydration in the UK. Liaising with the BPF to produce a fact sheet about PET bottles, the NHC expressed interest at working with the BPF in the future on potential communications campaigns, as well as with BPF Members who possess expertise within the areas of chemicals and food safety... click here

EU Circular Economy Consultation Published
The EU Circular Economy Consultation was published on Thursday 28th May. The Commission is aiming to present a new, more ambitious circular economy strategy late in 2015, to transform Europe into a more competitive resource-efficient economy, addressing a range of economic sectors, including waste… click here

Exhibit for FREE at Plastics and Rubber Indonesia 2015
The BPF is organising a UK Pavilion at the top plastics exhibition in Indonesia, Plastics and Rubber Indonesia, with grants of £2,500 for UK exhibitors available. The funding would cover a fully furnished 9sqm stand. Limited number of grants available, so companies are encouraged to secure their place as soon as possible... click here
