Employment Appeal Tribunal Gives Ruling in Holiday Pay Cases
The Employment Appeal Tribunal has issued its much-anticipated decision in Bear Scotland Ltd v Fulton & Anor and the other consolidated holiday appeals. Non-guaranteed overtime must be taken into account for the purposes of calculating holiday pay but the scope for workers to bring claims for arrears of holiday pay is very limited, rules the Employment Appeal Tribunal... click here

Employer Ownership Fund – Improving Engineering Careers
The Engineering Skills Fund is still open for employers to bid into. Government provides a 50% cash match for employers' training. This is for training which does not fit into mainstream funding channels (so it excludes apprenticeships and degree courses). This can support conversion training - to bring people into engineering, including those recruited externally, and progression training - to raise the skills of the workforce and increase productivity... click here

BPF Invite UK Companies to Exhibit at Chinaplas 2015 in Guangzhou
Chinaplas 2015 is being held in Guangzhou during May 2015. As the largest plastics and rubber fair in the Asia Pacific region and one of the top international plastics shows in the world, the BPF encourages all Members to consider exhibiting with them as part of the UK Pavillion. The previous edition of this show sold out 6 months before the show opening and there is already a huge amount of interest.
