New Material From Ebalta Reduces Dust in Tool Making
Thursday, 5 August 2010
Ebalta have launched a new tooling board and now switched production to in house production for all tooling boards with density >1 kg/l. The new range of boards has been thoroughly tested in the market and is now available for sale. The in-house production not only provides an improved level of choice and service for customers but the enhanced range has also strengthened Ebalta’s offering for mould and model making applications.
The new board is named PW 920, its applications are likely to be:- model making, core boxes, pattern plates and jigs. It features much improved abrasion resistance as well as higher impact strength and flexural strength. It does not contain any abrasive fillers and can be milled very well without the formation of any dust. This results in models and moulds with a perfect surface, distinguished by this exceptional level of quality.
Note the dust free shavings straight from the cutter Moreover, Ebalta have been able to reduce the coefficient of linear expansion by about 22 % resulting in easier machining of the materials and much greater dimensional stability.
The company gives technical support for optimum machining, new milling parameters and recommendations for seven different types of milling cutters are available on request or via www.ebalta.co.uk.
Their new service concept includes the additional range of ebablock® materials. This means that Ebalta can offer materials with density >1 kg/l cast to individual dimensions, according to pattern plates.
