News From Broanmain

Following its move from Dorking town centre nearly 4 years, Broanmain is now ready for the next stage in its expansion.  Planning permission for a extension of around 160 sq m will allow for further production/storage capacity, and plans are to start building in late Spring 2015.   Broanmain has recently gained one of the Honeywell companies as a customer, and will commence supply of mouldings to Trend Controls in Horsham in March.     Becoming a Honeywell accredited company was no mean feat, and Broanmain are delighted that the team at Trend selected them as partners for their new product.   The project also involves investment in Tampo printing, so increasing their range of enhancements further.

Broanmain was established in 1956, and remains a family owned business operating in the Surrey Hills.    It employs around 20 people and places a high importance on links to the local community.    As part of its initiative to become the supplier of choice to all of its customers, the company embarked upon an extensive and comprehensive training schedule for its staff and managers in the early part of 2014.   This programme will continue into 2015, with senior staff engaged in NVQ3 Business Improvement Techniques, and all shop floor staff taking part in NVQ2.   The company continues to measure its performance, both using customer data and its own information, to ensure the changes that are put in place are relevant and progressive.   Staff attend visits to customers’ and suppliers’ sites to gain process knowledge, and workshops and courses are attended both in-house and externally.

The Company will also become an accredited Living Wage Employer in January 2015.
