Image Kevin McCole, COO, joined the UKIBC in December 2008, immediately following 3 years working in Kolkata at the British Deputy High Commission. In this role, Kevin helped UK businesses win contracts and find partners in Eastern India and assisted Indian companies expand into the UK. At the UKIBC, Kevin co-ordinates the work of the team, including the sector specialists, membership management, research and knowledge, events and delegations and media and communications staff. Kevin also manages reltationships with UK Trade and Investment and other stakeholders.
Image Dr. Gunveena Chadha is the Director & Head of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and holds a PhD in Economics. Before moving to London to head the Confederation’s UK office, she was responsible for CII’s work with Latin American and Caribbean countries contributing towards carrying Brand India to the Latin American and Caribbean Region. She has worked on projects on industrial and economic policy development, foreign direct investments in India and has done studies on strategic growth and development. She has been working at the CII since 2009.

Chrisoulla Evangelou, Regional Trade & Supply Chain Manager, HSBC Bank Plc. Chrisoulla is looking after the South Region. She is a qualified banker and export specialist who has the knowledge and background to support companies who are importing or exporting. She assists importers and exporters in growing their business by providing advise, financial resources and the Bank's international network as assistance.

Julian Stretch OBE, Chairman, India Briefing Centre. Julian joined the firm’s Board in 2007. He was previously retained by the UK's Department of Trade & Industry (UK Trade & Investment) to provide UK companies with advice and assistance in entering and conducting business in India.
From 1995 to 1999 he was Director of International Operations for Vax International Ltd, a British domestic appliance manufacturer. Prior to Vax, he spent 25 years with Rank Xerox Ltd in the UK and overseas. He managed the company's operations in South Asia, Eastern Europe, Russia and the Middle East.
Julian established Xerox in India where he set up a manufacturing and marketing joint venture with the Modis. Subsequently with Vax he established a joint venture with Videocon - one of India's leading white goods manufacturers. From 1988 to 1992 he was Chairman of the then British Overseas Trade Board's area advisory group for South Asia. He was awarded the OBE for services to exports in 1992.

Manoj Ladwa, Chief Executive, MLS Chase. Manoj is the firm’s founder and chief executive. Manoj is a transactional lawyer and advises clients on their investment and strategic decisions. Manoj’s specialist areas are structuring international joint ventures and dispute resolution. He is a recognised expert on foreign direct investments in India. He is an accomplished media commentator and is frequently invited to speak at conferences. He has authored over 100 articles and publications. Manoj is also a co-founder of Saffron Chase, a leading India focussed government relations and corporate communications consultancy. Manoj is well known for his support for community causes and in 2007 established the MLS Chase Foundation.
In 2003 he established the London office of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and served as its head for three years. Manoj served on various trade promotion committees, including those of UKTI and the London Chamber of Commerce. Manoj is a graduate of the London School of Economics. He is dual qualified as an English solicitor and Indian advocate.

Image Maurice Von Bertele is a Tax Director at Grant Thornton, who specialises in tax planning for businesses and their shareholders.  Maurice advises his clients on corporate and international tax, capital allowances, research & development allowances, capital gains tax, domicile and residence.  He has also developed a particular specialism in advising UK companies on the cross border tax issues arising from investing and doing business in India, and vice versa. Specific areas of relevant experience include Indian withholding taxes, permanent establishments, employment taxes and transfer pricing.
