PlastEurasia 2009 Report (19 - 22 November 2009)

The British Plastics Federation reports on the 19th International Plastics Industry Fair, called PlastEurasia, which is the largest plastics and rubber event in Turkey and one of the most important events of this kind in the region. The fair held in Istanbul over four days commenced on the 19th of November and covered 9 halls of the Pagev exhibition centre. The number of exhibitors reached 888 and the show attracted 28,442 visitors from 73 countries. Although, the BPF was not running a British Pavilion at the show this time, the Federation had a stand at the fair representing its Members and taking part in two Seminars as a speaker on the current European Projects. Over 500 of the BPF’s Buyers Guides were handed out from the stand promoting the Federation members. The BPF Buyers Guide is a brochure dedicated to a specific BPF Membership Group, listing all group members with full contact details and business profile. The guide is available as a hard copy and as a PDF downloadable from the BPF web site, and it is a very popular marketing tool on all BPF events reaching national and International audience. |

One of the BPF’s Equipment Group members, Rondol Technology Ltd who exhibited with their local agent, reported a very successful show. As well as exhibiting at PlastEurasia, the BPF also attended the PAGEV Plastics Industry Congress, which ran for 2 days prior to the exhibition. PAGEV - the Turkish Plastics Industry Association - organises this conference each year by way of a training day for their members and for local Universities. There were over 70 delegates at the event, with speakers from the likes of EuPC, Symphony Environmental Technologies, DOW and Cincinnati Milacron Extrusion Systems. |

BPF Executive, Tim Marsden, presented on the BPF's Research and Development projects, also presenting an overview of the BPF.

Visitors at PlastEurasia 2009
The BPF has successfully applied for the UK Trade&Investment grant of £1000 for eligible UK companies wishing to attend the Plasteurasia fair in 2010.
The dates of the 20th edition of the show have been confirmed as 2nd to 5th December 2010.
