Plastics Companies Contact Local MPs
Wednesday, 14 December 2016
BPF members are now using the BPF’s Political Engagement Toolbox to help them engage with their local politicians about industry-wide concerns following the EU-referendum result.
Glen Wells, general manager of St David’s Assemblies, together with Sue Desilva, logistics and purchasing manager, met with their local MP Stephen Crabb in order to discuss the ramification of the result for their business.

Broanmain’s Operations Director Jo Davis has contacted MP Sir Paul Beresford regarding discussions about the decline in quantity of staff available, and to ensure involvement in further discussions regarding decisions likely to affect the industry, such as issues of immigration and access to workforce.
Plastics companies are meeting with MPs to discuss a range of issues – including the implications of exchange rate fluctuations, skills and training, energy security, and access to finance – in order to ensure plastics are high on the agenda when politicians consider the future of this country.
The BPF toolbox is available online and includes links to useful contacts, useful resources to aid communications, and steps to take maximise the impact of these measures.
