'Plastics United’ aims to fill the terraces
Wednesday, 10 April 2013
The British Plastics Federation is organising an industry networking event on Thursday June 13th as part of its 80th Anniversary celebrations. It will take place at the Midland Hotel in Manchester located in one of the traditional heartlands of the industry.
Plastics United aims to promote cross-fertilisation between the different sectors of the plastics industry and will be addressed by John Cridland, the Director-General of the Confederation of British Industry. The impressive speaking line-up will also include Barclays Bank's Head of Manufacturing, Mike Rigby, who will examine the economics of plastics manufacturing in the UK. Mike Smith of IHS Chemical will review polymer supply and independent energy analyst, John Hall, will analyse energy supply trends.
A highlight of the event will be a special discussion panel on the industry's skills shortfall and the possible strategies to address this. Leading BPF members will be joined by COGENT, NSAPI and a current apprentice to explore this crucial issue.
Running alongside the Conference element will be a series of industry clinics manned by specialist BPF members giving delegates the opportunity of individual consultations on topics including recycling, skills and training , support for innovation and health and safety.
This forum is designed to appeal to all members of the plastics industry and is a highly cost effective way to explore the future of the plastics industry and to network with peers.
The British Plastics Federation is offering an early bird discount of £75 off bookings for Plastics United: The BPF Industry Forum. The offer, which runs until Tuesday 7th May 2013, will allow BPF Members to book for this event for the low price of £175 + VAT and Non Members to book for the cost of £220 + VAT.
