Plastics Successes in Toys and Games

Hornby the UK toys and models group has won contracts for a range of toys devoted to the London 2012 Olympic Games. There will be an Airfix construction kit of the Olympic Stadium, probably made from polystyrene and the train models will be mostly plastic.

Games Workshop the UK firm making war games and fantasy figures has announced that they are increasing the volume of figures made out of plastic as a means of dodging fluctuations in metal prices and maintaining quality. They expect 80% to be made of plastic, 20% from tin, a reverse on a decade ago.
