Polymer Apprentice of The Year Award 2020 Deadline Extended

Polymer Apprentice of The Year Award 2020 Deadline Extended

The 2020 Polymer Apprentice of the Year Award, run by the Worshipful Company of Horners in conjunction with the British Plastics Federation (BPF), has extended its deadline until Friday 20th November 2020.

Companies will now have two additional weeks to submit their apprentice for consideration. The award, which recognises the achievement of apprentices, promotes the talent and value of those entering the plastics industry.

2019 saw Jordan Clayton of Polypipe scoop first prize, awarded at the Livery Companies Skills Council Award Ceremony in Mansion House, where he received his Polymer Apprentice Certificate, ceremonial drinking horn and £500 cash prize.

Commenting on the current challenge that the Plastic industry faces, Matt Davies of the BPF noted:

Extending the deadline in light of the coronavirus pandemic will hopefully give companies the additional time they need to get entrants submitted and highlight the fantastic contribution apprentices have made to our sector this year.

As the livery company associated with the polymer industry, the Worshipful Company of Horners work closely with the BPF to promote education and skills vital to the industry. As part of this collaboration, the Polymer Apprentice of the Year Award is open to apprentices employed in a technical, engineering, manufacturing or design role within the industry, to identify outstanding performance during their apprenticeship.

If your company has an apprentice that deserves recognition, please visit www.bpf.co.uk/events/the_horners_award/polymer-apprentice-of-the-year-award for information on how to enter.
