PolySolve Video Released

The PolySolve project, which is funded under the FP7 Research for SME Associations scheme, will be completing in November 2014. As we move forward towards completion, we are increasingly looking at the possible exploitation of the project.

The project has developed a scenario where post-consumer EPS and PC waste can be (separately) recycled using a solvent based approach. The solvents are polymer specific, indeed previous projects have also looked at PVC and PE. In the case of PolySolve however, the solvents work well on EPS Fish Boxes (removing all labels and fish oils) and also EPS insulation panels (removing a very high percentage of all additives).

A similar approach also works for post-consumer Polycarbonate CD and DVD waste.
