Truly spectacular First Edition UK set. Stunning set of Allen & Unwin UK 1st Editions, a very rare find in this fabulous condition. The early impressions make this set an heirloom, to be cherished, and passed down the generations. This is one of the most beautiful original sets you may ever hope to acquire!

An early set of the 1st UK Edition, Lord of the Rings, comprised of "The Fellowship of the Ring" - a 2nd impression, published in 1954, "The Two Towers" - a 2nd impression, published in 1955, and "The Return of the King" - a 1st impression, 1st state, published in 1955, by the master storyteller J. An absolutely gorgeous matched set, all with their correct and original dust jackets. The spines of all three dust jackets are not faded, with only the slightest mellowing and rubbing, which is almost unheard of in an early set like this.

These books are all in Very Good Plus to Near Fine condition. All original maps are in Fine condition, with no tears or extra folds. Included with this set, a custom made slipcase, covered with hand marbled papers, to accent and protect these fine books.
