Recycle Week 2017
Friday, 15 September 2017
This year’s Recycle Week will take place from 25th September to 1st October 2017. The theme is ‘Recycling – it’s worth it’and WRAP will be releasing ‘What Goes Around Comes Around’ animations each day. These animations include showing a kitchen cleaner bottle being recycled into to garden slide then how another cleaning bottle is needed to clean up the mud from playing in the garden (released on 26th) and a similar one for a shampoo bottle being recycled into a football shirt (released on 30th). The focus is particularly on recycling items from the bathroom as only 52% of bathroom items go in the recycling bin in UK home.
Resources are availble for you to use to promote Recycle Week through your own communication channel at https://partners.wrap.org.uk/collections/187/.
Recycle Week is also a great time to get involved in the Plastics Industry Recycling Action Plan (PIRAP). PIRAP is a whole industry to initiative to help increase plastic recycling. PIRAP supporters contribute towards increasing plastic recycling and 57 companies are already supporters. This might be using recycled content, having machinery able to sort a range of plastics or promoting recycling to the public.
More information on PIRAP is available at www.pirap.co.uk or contact [email protected].
