Post Show Report on K 2013 by British Plastics Federation
The British Plastics Federation (BPF) organised two British Pavilions featuring 30 UK companies at K fair in Düsseldorf. The show held between 16th and 23rd October 2013 covered 19 halls and attracted 218,000 visitors and 3,200 exhibitors.

Best of British at K 2013
With UK Trade & Investment support, the BPF created the 'Best of British at K 2013' guide which featured information on all 100 British exhibitors at the show as well as a detailed listing of all 450 BPF Members. Two thousand copies of the guide were distributed over the course of the shows eight days.
The guide gave a concise overview of the UK plastics industry and highlighted some of its many strengths. In addition it featured a number of case studies on cutting edge UK innovations as well as a special feature on plastics applications in sport. The case studies promoted a number of innovations from leading UK universities including “Plastic Blood” by University of Sheffield, “Polymer gel batteries” by University of Leeds, “Sollar cells as spray paint” by Univerity of Sheffield, “ Graphene- a wonder material” by Univerity of Cambridge, “Polymer helps with bone healing” by Univerity of Southampton, and “Root canal treatment” by Univerity of Bradford.
The Guide is available to download from the mini website under www.k2013.co.uk
Mini Cooper: An icon of British Design and Manufacture
The BPF also took part in a promotional event of the GREAT Mini Cooper, which was touring Germany and stopped by on the 21st October in Düsseldorf and made its presence at the K fair. Two BPF member companies who supplied to the Mini Cooper, Albis and Axion, participated in a photo shoot at the fair alongside officials from UKT&I and Messe Düsseldorf.
