The Rt Hon Dr Hywel Francis, MP for Aberavon, and Stephen Kinnock, Labour Party candidate for the seat at the next General Election, visited the RPC Tedeco-Gizeh factory at Kenfig Industrial Estate, Port Talbot on Friday 30th January.
The visit was part of the British Plastics Federation’s (BPF) Political Contact Programme, which seeks to raise the profile of the UK plastics industry and demonstrate its significance and impact on the country’s economy.
Opened in 1991, the RPC Tedeco-Gizeh operation is today a leading UK designer and manufacturer of plastic vending cups and capsules for single-serve hot drinks
During their visit Dr Francis and Mr Kinnock toured the factory to see its manufacturing operations first hand. General Manager David Lowe gave an overview of the company, which underlined its commitment to the local community in terms of employment, training opportunities and the use of local suppliers wherever possible.
Dr Francis and Mr Kinnock also learned about the continuing investment in the site, its stringent health & safety policy, and the launch of its latest new products, all of which will help to ensure that the company continues to build on its success in the future.
