Dr Robin Kent, Tangram Technology Dr Kent is the founder and Managing Director of Tangram Technology. He has a B.Eng.(Hons.) in Materials Engineering from Monash University (Australia) and a Ph.D. in Polymer Physics from the University of Surrey. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, a Fellow of the Energy Institute, a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Energy Manager. Dr Kent is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Horners and Freeman of the City of London. He has been involved with polymer processing since 1971 and has worked as Technical Director for several of the major plastics processing and window systems companies in UK and Europe. He has published over 450 technical and management papers on plastics and windows and 6 books on plastics processing. He regularly lectures on energy management in plastics processing and materials technology throughout the world, is a regular judge for industry awards and has chaired 5 committees setting the standards for the UK window industry. He is recognised as the leading authority on energy management in plastics processing and has carried out energy surveys and assessments on over 500 plastics processing companies throughout the world. His typical survey work identifies an average of 30% reduction in energy use and carbon footprint from targeted and cost-effective projects. Dr Kent was awarded the Plastics Industry Awards 2010 ‘Personal Contribution’ award for his work as a champion of energy efficiency and for helping numerous processors to make savings through better energy use. |
