David Cockhead, Altro Flooring
David graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1987 with an honours degree in Chemistry. Between 1987 and 1999 he worked in the R&D departments of various companies specialising in rubber latex chemistry and latterly PVC compounding. During this time he was seconded to the USA, India and Thailand, during the latter two secondments he assisted in the setting up of the quality management systems that enabled the manufacturing plants to achieve certification to BS 5750. In 1999 he joined Altro Limited as a development technologist working on various development projects. In 2013 he took up the role of Quality & Compliance Advisor and in 2017 he become Regulatory Affairs Manager, with responsibility for both the quality and environmental management systems, REACH and product safety. He is the current chairman of the United Kingdom Resilient Flooring Association’s technical committee, a member of the European Resilient Flooring Manufacturers Institute technical committee, several of the BPF’s technical groups and two bsi committees.

Brigitte Dero, VinylPlus
Brigitte joined the European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers in 2011 and became General Manager of VinylPlus®, the organisation under which 200 companies from the European PVC value chain (resin manufacturers , chemical additives producers, plastic converters) work together to increase the sustainability performance of PVC.
In 2012 she registered VinylPlus in the UN Registry of Commitments and engaged VinylPlus with UNEP and UNIDO. VinylPlus is now registered as a SMART partnership on the UN Partnerships for SDGs Platform.
She is currently the chair of the Global Vinyl Council composed of worldwide Regional Vinyl Associations (Asia-Pacific, US, Japan, India, South Africa, South America, Europe).
Brigitte Dero holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Brussels, Belgium. Early in her career she worked in research for the World Health Organisation, and subsequently, for metals manufacturers in occupational health, safety and environment areas and for chemical producers of plastic additives. She has worked for the PVC sector for the past 20 years.

Roger Mottram, Inovyn
Roger joined ICI in 1984 after graduating with First Class Honours in Materials Science from Bradford University and has worked in the chemicals and polymers industry ever since.
Roger has held a variety of technical, commercial and communications roles, but has specialised in environmental affairs and advocacy activities for the PVC and chlor-alkali industry for the past 22 years.
Roger is currently active on many industry committees especially with the British Plastics Federation (as Chairman of VinylPlus UK), ECVM (as Chairman of the Applications and Communications Committee), Euro Chlor (as Chairman of the Regulatory Affairs Committee), VinylPlus and PlasticsEurope.
In 2013 Roger was awarded the BPF Gold medal for outstanding service to the plastics industry. Roger is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials and is registered as a Chartered Environmentalist.

Henry Warren, IHS Markit
Henry is Director of IHS Markit’s Vinyls Market Advisory Service. His primary focus is EDC through to PVC and downstream, in Greater Europe and parts of the Middle East, along with an understanding of global dynamics.
Henry entered the field of chemical market analysis in 1996, working in areas including feedstocks and several polyolefin value chains in Europe, the US and Latin America. In 2001 he joined Harriman Chemsult (a highly regarded niche consultancy in the chlor-alkali and vinyls segment), which was acquired by IHS Markit in September 2010.
His expertise in vinyls has also led to involvement in a supporting role for a number of single-client studies. These have included collaboration with consulting colleagues involved in projects looking at investment decisions, purchasing reviews, strategic supply projects and competitive analysis. Most recently he was a collaborator in IHS Markit’s multi-client Plastics Sustainability Study, which was completed in late 2018.
