Rob Broughton, Amcor Flexibles

Robert Broughton has a degree in Chemistry from Cambridge University and since graduating in 1976 has had continuous employment in the flexible packaging industry, mostly in technical roles.

He was originally employed at the Midsomer Norton, UK site of Mardon Flexible Packaging (later Lawson Mardon Packaging then Alcan Packaging).  He was Food Contact Manager, Europe for Alcan Packaging when they were bought by Amcor in 2010 and he took on his current position.

His role requires extensive knowledge of existing and forthcoming food contact legislation, transferring this into company guidelines, ensuring these are conformed with and communicating with suppliers, customers, trade associations etc.

He chairs the Technical Committee of the British Plastics Federation (BPF) Plastics and Flexible Packaging group and is a past chairman of the Technical Committe of Flexible Packaging Europe (FPE).

Dr Chris Howick, Inovyn
 

Dr Chris Howick is the product regulation manager for INOVYN Chlorvinyls. He is a graduate of the City University, London, where he earned a BSc degree in Chemistry and also a graduate of Nottingham University, England, where he obtained a PhD degree in Inorganic Chemistry. Chris’ prior experience includes 5 years and work at European Vinyls Corporation (EVC) 

He has had various roles in technical service, technical marketing and regulatory affairs which he continued when EVC became INEOS Vinyls.

Chris became the Product Stewardship Manager for INEOS Chlorvinyls in December 2006 and had responsibility for the group’s REACH activities and regulatory position of its PVC resins. He became chair of the European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers REACH committee in 2007. In 2008 he was also elected chair of the British Plastics Federation Product Safety Committee. With the formation OF INOVYN Chris was recently appointed as Product Regulation Manager.


Anita Lloyd, Squire Patton Boggs

Anita Lloyd is a director in Squire Patton Boggs’ Environmental, Safety & Health group. Anita specialises in environmental and sustainability matters, including waste, environmental permits, producer responsibility, asbestos, contaminated land, and climate change law.

She has significant experience in chemical regulatory matters and in the environmental aspects of complex property and corporate transactions, often involving industrial and manufacturing businesses.
