Les Druyf LyondellBasell Les has 39 years’ experience in roto-moulding, starting straight out of school as a production hand at a Roto moulding factory in Sydney, Australia and working my way up to production manager by the age of 21. During the 22 years I was involved in every facet of the business including running the production facility, employing staff, sales, design and marketing. Moved to the UK and in 2003 joined ICO Polymers in sales as an account manager for 12 years. Then enjoyed a new exciting position of European roto-moulding product manager for 2 years after A. Schulman acquired ICO, and more recently evolved to become the Product Line Manager for Powders division EMEA since 2016. Lyondell Basell now brings a new dimension to this exciting job with many new opportunities being discussed in this interesting market.
Peter Mackrell Matrix Polymers Peter has been working in the polymer industry for 28 years in a number of different sectors including automotive, aerospace and recycling. Currently he is Quality and Technical Manager at Matrix. Peter holds a Polymer Science and Technology Degree from Manchester Metropolitan University and has recently completed a post-graduate certificate in Sustainable Value Chains at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
Gareth McDowell 493K After receiving his PhD, with specialisms in Rotomoulding, from Queen's University Belfast, Gareth completed a period of product development focusing on full time temperature & pressure monitoring systems for our industry. Now, 16 years later 493K continues to supply products to the rotational moulding industry, reaching customers in every European country and across all major continents extending as far as Australia and South America. These products enable rotomoulders to optimise cycle times, improve part quality and ultimately increase their bottom line profit: . K-KONTROL: high temperature sliprings to enable full time temperature measurement of rotomoulding tools; . K-PAQ: portable temperature & pressure measurement for rotomoulding tools; . K-METRON: non-destructive measurement of part wall thickness; . ROTOROCKET: bench top uni-axial rotomoulding machine; . K-KOOL: a cooling rate controller that provides stable cooling for rotomoulding machines; Gareth is always excited to share with you some of his vision for the future of the rotomoulding industry.
Martin Spencer UniqueRoto Martin Spencer is the managing Director of UniqueRoto an independent consultancy offering help and advice to bring innovative rotationally moulded products to market. He was Founder and Managing Director of Rototek Ltd and was Chairman of the Rotational Moulders group of the BPF for 5 years. He also serves as the BPF representative on the board of ARMO of which he was Chair for two years.
