What does your company do?
Matrix has grown organically and by acquisitions, over 26 years to become one of the world’s leading suppliers of thermosetting and thermoplastic materials intended to be used in rotomoulding applications such as hydraulic, chemical (AD Blue) and fuel tank for the automotive industry.
We have strong technical roots and like to work in close collaboration with our customers. We also have close partnerships with our suppliers. Some of whom are the world’s largest petrochemical companies. We offer one of the widest ranges of materials and several of our key grades have been developed by us under our ‘design for roto’ concept. These are made to our own recipe and produced exclusively for Matrix.
We are the biggest supplier of coloured powder to the rotomoulding industry in Australia and New Zealand. In 2010 we acquired the business of Vanglobe and in 2015 we acquired the business of Hills Polymers.
What is unique about your company?
Uniquely dedicated and focused to the rotomoulding industry, we are world leader and specialist of advanced materials and engineered solution. Thanks to our strong technical roots, we work in close collaboration with our customers. Under the Designed for Roto development programme we offer one of the widest ranges of technologies based on polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamide and fluoropolymer resins. Those polymers are converted in a wide range of products and applications in construction, gardening, furniture and tanks certified by independent automotive authorities and OEM tier-1 for the last 20 years
How long have you been a member of the BPF?
We have joined the British Plastic Federation nearly 10 years ago
What do you like the most about being a member of the BPF?
The most valuable aspect to be a member of the BPF is getting to know other organisations in the plastic industry with a wide range of expertise. Matrix would like to contribute to the Plastic Industry in UK and being part of the BPF has helped Matrix to achieve the goals.
We regularly attend the Rotational Moulding Group Meetings and the Group Annual Seminar, which this year will take place on 16th May at Queen’s University, Belfast.
We are signed up the SIMPL initiative (Safety in manufacturing plastics) and to Operation Clean Sweep, an international initiative to reduce plastic pellet loss in the environment. Such initiatives contribute to further increasing our positive involvement in industry and giving us access to relevant information that can boost our business processes, staff welfare and environmental impact.
Did you get any sales lead through the BPF?
Yes, we receive regularly sales leads through the BPF. We welcome those leads which could turn in interesting business
